Ride Rating

A rideshare passenger files a complaint about a driver whose trip never moves, and then receives the car as a gift.

**Passenger safety report — Driver ID 7731-K**
**Filed by:** Tomasz Brand (passenger) · **Trip:** 19 Oct, 22:40–23:02 · **Pickup:** Rennet Street · **Dropoff:** 88 Ash Lane

I booked the car at 22:40 and it arrived in four minutes. The driver was a man in a dark jacket. He said his name was Dale, which matched the app. He asked me to put my bag in the boot, and I did.

The route on the app showed a left turn at the junction with Carrow Road. He took a right. I didn't say anything. He had the radio on, low, a station playing old songs I didn't know.

At the third set of lights he said, "It's a shortcut." I said that was fine. He said, "Are you comfortable?" I said yes. He said, "You'll get there when you get there."

**Passenger report (continued)**
When the car stopped, we were outside my building. The meter said 23:02. He pulled up at the kerb and turned to me and said, "Here you are." But I'd put my own address in and I hadn't been in the car long enough to drive anywhere.

I asked him where we'd been. He said, "Round the houses." Then he laughed, and I saw his teeth were very white, and his eyes were the same colour as the windscreen.

I got out. He didn't drive off. He waited at the kerb with his hazards on until I was inside, and when I looked out of my window the car was still there, and so was he, and so was a second man in the back seat, looking out of the rear window at my building with the same expression.

**Driver complaint review (internal, 26 Oct)**
Complainant's account has been checked against trip data. Driver ID 7731-K recorded 9,412 completed trips in the last 12 months. Driver's average rating: 4.9.

No trip has been recorded in the driver's name for 14 October through 25 October. The driver's account has been active throughout.

Note from reviewer: the vehicle registration on file belongs to a silver saloon. The car in the complainant's photo is dark blue. The photo was taken from the complainant's window at 23:05, and the reflection in the windscreen shows a second person in the front passenger seat, facing backwards.

**Second passenger report · Driver ID 7731-K**
**Filed by:** Anika Solberg · **Trip:** 25 Oct, 06:15–06:21 · **Pickup:** Station Road · **Dropoff:** Station Road

I took the car to the station. Six minutes. It arrived at my door before I'd finished my coffee. The driver said his name was Dale.

When I got in he said, "Hello, you're going somewhere, aren't you?" and I said yes, the station. He said, "We'll go together," and then the car started moving, and I don't remember anything after that until the car stopped in the same place it had started.

The app says I took the trip. It says the trip was six minutes long and the fare was £0.00. It also says I rated the driver five stars, with a note: *Thank you for taking me where I needed to go.*

I didn't write that.
