I've been through here a dozen times and each time the car park is full. Hundreds of cars and not a person in sight. Then you go inside and everyone is there, sitting at the tables, in their coats, with their coffees. Nobody talks. It's very peaceful.

Does anyone else think there's something wrong with the signs? The sign for the services says "Fenmere Moor 1 mile." After a mile it says "Fenmere Moor 1 mile." After the third mile I checked my satnav. It says I'm on the M64 between Junctions 14 and 15. There is no 14B on the map.

**Highways Authority statement (21 October)**
*The Highways Authority has received a number of reports concerning a motorway services area at "Junction 14B" on the M64. There is no Junction 14B. There is no services area between Junction 14 and Junction 15. The stretch of the M64 between those junctions is 9.2 km of open carriageway with no facilities.*
*Motorists who believe they have used the services are asked to contact the Authority. Motorists who are currently in the car park are asked to continue their journey.*

I want to warn people. I went in for a quick break at 4 am. I was exhausted. I parked and went in and sat down. I don't know how long. There was a clock on the wall and the hands didn't move. A woman at the next table said "Don't worry, love, the time here is free." She was smiling but she had the face of someone who's very tired.
I got up to leave after what felt like twenty minutes. My phone says it's the 14th of the following month. My car has a layer of dust on it.

**Highways Authority statement (28 October)**
*Following public concern, officers attended the M64 between Junctions 14 and 15 on 26 October. The carriageway is clear. There is no slip road, no signage and no structure. A police patrol reported that cars slowing on the hard shoulder at about 04:00 had their hazard lights on and their engines running but were unoccupied. The drivers were not found.*
*The Authority has no knowledge of a services area at this location.*
