I want to be clear this is not a joke. There is a second toothbrush in the bathroom cup. I didn't buy it. The bed is always warm on the side I don't sleep on.

The flat below is empty but I keep hearing a television. It's always the same channel, a weather report from a town I've never heard of. Haven't been able to find the channel on any guide.

The photos online show a flat with one bedroom. There are two. The second door is painted the same colour as the wall and has no handle, but it has a keyhole, and sometimes I can hear someone in there, typing.

I moved out on Friday. I was going to write something kinder. I was going to say the heating was fine and the light was good. But I locked the door and handed in the keys and then I heard the typing again, from behind the wall that was not there yesterday, and I stopped on the pavement and I could not stop listening.
Please don't sign until you have seen the room behind the second door. Please don't go in. Please don't answer if it knocks from the inside.

The new tenant has asked us to note that the second room is now occupied, and that the toothbrush in the cup has been replaced, and that the bed is warm on both sides.
